Indiana News – Kyle Long and Guest Report Nick Strickland Discuss a Variety of Topics

This week on Indiana News, Kyle Long and guest reporter Nick Strickland discuss a variety of topics. We cover Insomnia in a Northwest Indiana high school, a former Stanford QB’s retirement and an Anderson mayor’s bid for reelection. The show is no nonsense, but sometimes, the topic needs to be talked about.

Former Stanford QB retiring

Former Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck is reportedly retiring from the NFL and is heading back to school to pursue a Masters degree in education. Luck has two children with his wife, Jennifer. The news broke during the preseason of the NFL season. Luck reportedly heard boos from the crowd while leaving the field. He confirmed the reports and thanked the fans in a full-page ad in the Indianapolis Star.

Luck was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts as the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played seven games in 2015 and then missed most of last season because of injuries. He was named to the All-Pac-12 third team. Luck threw for more than 23,600 yards in his NFL career and was named a four-time Pro Bowl selection.

Nunes had an injury to his right pectoralis major muscle in the offseason, forcing him to retire from football. He later underwent surgery to reattach the tendon with screws. It’s unclear when Nunes’ injury occurred, but his injury probably occurred during a weight-lifting workout.

After his retirement, Andrew Luck will spend time with his family. Luck was an All-American at Stanford and was selected first overall in the 2012 NFL draft. He played six seasons with the Colts and threw for more than 23,000 yards and 171 touchdowns. In 2014, he led the NFL with 40 touchdown passes. However, Luck’s retirement will be felt by many Stanford fans who hope to see him play again in the NFL.
